Portugal held on to defeat Turkey in a thrilling UEFA Euro 2022 World Cup play-off semi-final.

Portugal survived a late burst of pressure from Turkey to secure a 1-0 victory and progress to the last 16 of the UEFA Euro 2022 World Cup play-offs. Fernando Santos' hosts were the dominant force throughout the match, but were unable to put the game to bed until the 83rd minute when Cristiano Ronaldo scored the only goal.

Portugal now has an impressive record against Turkey, winning seven out of nine matches. The Selecao will now face a third-placed team in the last 16, with the exact opponent to be determined after the conclusion of the group stage.
